Connecting Technology – Strengthening Japan–Vietnam Cooperation toward Long-term Strategic Partnerships

On December 10, 2025, the Japan–Vietnam Technology Business Matching Program, jointly organized by the Yokohama Urban Solution Alliance (YUSA) and Izumi Innovation Co., Ltd., was successfully held, leaving a strong impression in the ongoing efforts to promote technological cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development between Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises.

The event brought together YUSA member companies and enterprises from the LITA Network, creating an open and substantive dialogue platform aimed at fostering strategic and long-term partnerships, aligned with the new development context of both countries.

Strategic Perspectives from the City of Yokohama

Speaking at the event, Mr. Yutaka Mikami – Chief Representative of the Office of the City of Yokohama Representative to Southeast and South Asia, emphasized:

In recent years, Vietnam has emerged as a highly promising market, supported by stable economic growth and an increasingly attractive investment environment. However, rapid urbanization has also brought about significant challenges in infrastructure development, environmental protection, and disaster risks caused by climate change.

At the same time, the growth of domestic enterprises and the ongoing improvement of institutional frameworks have made it more difficult for foreign companies to enter the market independently. Under these circumstances, collaboration and partnerships with local enterprises have become more important than ever for Japanese companies seeking new business opportunities in Vietnam.

I hope that today’s matching event will serve as a starting point for deeper collaboration and the creation of new, sustainable value together.
